Business and Private Vehicle Insurance
Whether a business or private vehicle user, obtaining the correct level of cover for your requirement is paramount and whilst price is a major consideration this should not be the only factor in arriving at a decision regarding motor vehicle insurance.
With regard to business motor vehicles, a number of factors need to be taken into account not least of which is the level of driving restriction required. Whereas the larger Motor Fleet contracts generally provide cover on an open driving basis, for individual or small Fleet operations it is becoming more common to see such policies being issued on a restricted driving basis which not only provides a greater variety of choice, but also reflects this restriction by way of discounts which may be allowed.
Another factor in the rating of Commercial Vehicle Insurance is the usage of the vehicle together with the nature of the goods normally carried. In the case of a self employed builder carrying general materials and equipment, the rating applicable is generally much lower than that relevant to the vehicle which may be used for haulage or courier services where it is not necessarily easy to establish the nature of the goods being transported.
We are in a position to access quotations for the majority of situations that we may be presented with and we do indeed act on behalf of Companies ranging from a sole trader status through to Plc's with Fleets in excess of sixty vehicles. On a similar matter, with regard to Private Motor Insurance there are a plethore of insurers and contracts available and the Private Motor insurance market has now become something of a minefield to navigate. The Insurance Brokers role is to assist the client in this regard by taking the relevant information and transferring this into a computer generated format, which then produces a number of options. These are then discussed with the prospective customer. The personal contact which we try to generate between Broker and Client alike helps us in understanding more fully the customers requirements and consequently, this allows us to modify or "fine tune" policy cover accordingly which in turn generally reduces the overall premium required.
When a customer arranges insurance cover through our Company he or she becomes a Client and we look to develop a rapport with our clients which allow us to keep abreast of their changing requirements unlike the telephone call centre mentality which has been so prevalent during recent years. |
